Dear St. Catherine Parishioners,

We hope and pray that you and your families are doing well.

On Saturday February 18^th, 2012, the Denver Metropolitan IOCC Committee is sponsoring its Annual IOCC Awareness Dinner at the Assumption Cathedral.  The flier and invitation for the event are attached. Tickets are available for $30 per person and $10 for children 15 and under.

In an effort to encourage as many of our parishioners and young families as possible to participate, our Parish Council has budgeted $1,000 that can be used to assist towards the ticket prices for families.

Our annual parish budget has a dedicated line item for the IOCC and the Parish Council has chosen to  leverage a portion of these funds in support of this event.

The way that this program this will work, is that a family of any size can pay $30 (or more)  towards the total amount it would cost their family to attend, and St. Catherine Parish will contribute towards the remainder of the ticket price from the funds that are earmarked to support the IOCC.  We hope in this way to encourage young families to attend who might not otherwise be able to do so.

The IOCC is such an important ministry of our Orthodox Church and we at St. Catherine are committed in our support of their worldwide humanitarian efforts.

VALENTINE’S DAY LITURGY AND COFFEE HOUR BRUNCH FOR SENIORS.

The Sts. Joachim and Anna Ministry of the St. Catherine Philoptochos is hosting a special late weekday morning Divine Liturgy for our seniors and for those parishioners who may have difficulty getting to church on Sundays. This Liturgy is scheduled for Valentine’s Day Tuesday February 14th at 10am followed by a nice coffee hour. Please respond your attendance to Helen at the church office

Our parish St. John Chrysostom Oratorical festival will be held at St. Catherine after Liturgy on February 12th.

WOMEN’S SPIRITUAL DISCUSSION GROUP will resume January 10, 2012 from 10:30- 11:30 and will meet weekly in the GOYA room. This group will be structured around the daily readings of the Orthodox Church and is intended to be a place for women to come together for fellowship, support, and fun. Please feel free to join us any Tuesday that you are available. We look forward to having you with us.

The Panhellenic Scholarship foundation will once again offer scholarship awards to students pursuing undergraduate studies. Applications are due January 31, 2012. Information is available on the website www.panhellenicsholarships.org
