Dear Parents,

Do you want your child to learn Greek and be exposed to the Greek Language? Greek School registration for the 2012-2013 has opened! The Greek School at the Assumption Cathedral is accredited by the Greek Department of Education and follows standards and benchmarks from the Colorado Department of Education.

Classes are available for children starting at 15 months up to adult classes! Classes are designed to teach children using art, music, games technology. The Greek School also features a library where children are able to check out books, CD’s, DVD’s and games to help facilitate learning at home. For children ages 6 and above the curriculum includes DVD’d and at home computer software to help facilitate learning.

Greek School is in session from September – June. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:45-6:30 p.m. Tuition is $65 a month. Multiple child discounts are available.

We are excited to offer two new classes this year. Our Parent-Toddler class is for parents & children 15 mo – 2.5 years. Parents will be learning fun games and activities to promote early Greek language learning. We will also be offering a Young Adult Conversation class for students in Middle and High School. This will be an interactive and engaging class which will focus on Greek Conversation.

Visit Saints alive!—a healthy place for kids to explore, create, play, learn, discover, and grow in the Orthodox Faith!  Saints alive! features lots of interactive games and puzzles, in a colorful, fun environment, all with an Orthodox theme. The games are suitable for kids from ages 5 on up.PLEASE NOTE: This is a “beta” version of the program, and you may find bugs or missing content.

Saints alive! is a project of the Department of Internet Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. We are pleased to make this resource available. Be sure to check back frequently, as we plan to add more games, more content, and more fun experiences.

WOMEN’S SPIRITUAL DISCUSSION GROUP will resume January 10, 2012 from 10:30- 11:30 and will meet weekly in the GOYA room. This group will be structured around the daily readings of the Orthodox Church and is intended to be a place for women to come together for fellowship, support, and fun. Please feel free to join us any Tuesday that you are available. We look forward to having you with us.
