New Testament Survey
Class Description:
In this on-line course we will learn the content of the New Testament. Students will also be able to identify certain apostolic, early and later patristic fathers and will be familiar with their teachings and writings. Students will be able to connect and identify certain patristic writings and their origin in the New Testament. Students will become familiar with some of the patristic themes and how they relate to early Christian thought and practice.
This on-line class was recorded at a public university. Any errors or omissions are the fault of the instructor and therefore do not adequately reflect the teaching of the One Holy and Universal Orthodox Church. Although, much care has been taken to present a thoughtful and provocative treatment of the New Testament. It must be kept in mind that this is a survey course and as such it does not allow for the detailed treatment of each book of the New Testament. Nevertheless, it is the opinion of Fr. Evan Armatas that the New Testament has been treated in an Orthodox manner and is in accordance with the teaching and tradition of the Orthodox Church. Therefore, when and if a conflict arises between the instructor’s position and that of the Church’s, the instructor states emphatically that it is the Church’s position that should prevail.
To God be all the glory!
